La naturalesa de Farrera ens inspirarà en la realització d’un petit llibre acordió, estampant un mínim de 3 imatges sobre una fulla única i 3 plecs. Així mateix, imprimirem les mateixes planxes sobre una tela quadrada que cadascú personalitzarà al seu gust.

Once again I took part to the BuchDruckKunst book fair 2024, where I presented my Opera dei Pupi project. A great occasion to see old friends and meet new people. Thank you, Hamburg!
Marzo 2024: ho il piacere di annunciarvi l'uscita del mio ultimo lavoro, Opera dei pupi, ispirato al teatro di marionette affermatosi in Sicilia a metà del 1800 e proclamato patrimonio immateriale dell'umanità dall'Unesco nel 2008.
15 illustrazioni a 1, 2 e 3 colori per un'edizione di 12 copie stampate a torchio manuale su 3 tipi di carta diversi (Somerset, Drap, Magnani). Il progetto comprende inoltre una serie di ritratti delle 10 marionette più conosciute.
Opera dei pupi, un tributo alle mie radici e alla cultura popolare siciliana, verrà promosso da questo post in poi sul mio account Instagram.

Este año volví al centro de residencias artísticas Centre d'Art i Natura de Farrera (Lérida) para ofrecer el taller de grabado "Impressions de la Natura", un monográfico sobre la técnica de la plancha perdida. Ha sido un curso muy intensivo y realmente especial, gracias a la "familia" de Farrera, siempre tan hospitalaria, y a los participantes: todos muy talentosos y llenos de energía. ¡Gracias Farrera, fins a la propera!
Este año he tenido el placer de participar en la primera edición de Tandem on Books, evento promovido por Chiquita Room y Ximena Pérez Grobet. Ha venido mucha gente y lo hemos pasado muy, muy bien. ¡¡Muchas gracias a todos y nos vemos al próximo!!

Very happy of my official collaboration with the University of Exeter and its Centre for Translating Cultures directed by Dr Eliana Maestri and her Staff.
Dr Eliana Maestri’s research focuses on the interplay between translation and text-based art. She works in collaboration with artist Valeria Brancaforte on representations of languages as optical experiences. Brancaforte produced artist book “Languages in motion” to celebrate the 2019 Exeter Translation Festival.

Join us this July, at the Can Farrera, Pyrenees, for the intensive printmaking workshop "Pocket Herbarium”, which we'll make by using both the materials that nature offers us - such as leaves and flowers - and alternative and recycling materials.
Aquest juliol al Can Farrera, al Pirineu, proposem el taller intensiu de gravat "Herbari de butxaca": fabricarem un petit llibre a partir dels materials que la natura ens ofereix - com ara fulles i flors - i amb materials alternatius i de reciclatge.
I am more than happy to be back at the University of Exeter, having been invited as an Artist & Speaker at the Translation Festival, for 2 sessions:
1st Talk – 12:00pm: “Printmaking as Translation: Working with Words in Art and Design”. Session chaired by Dr Eliana Maestri, Director of the Centre for Translating Cultures.
2nd Talk – 13:00pm: “The Dostoevsky Project”. Session chaired by Professor of Russian at the University of Exeter Muireann Maguire, co-run by Oliver Ready, Dostoyevsky's official translator into English, and Valeria Brancaforte.
Once more, I'm very happy to be part of the BuchDrukKunst Book Fair at the Museum Der Arbeit in Hamburg from April 1st to April 3rd, 2022. I'll have the pleasure to release my latest works: "Toys", by Agnija Barto, and a small collction of tonguetwisters, "Zungerbrecher". Please come by if you are in the area!

Thanks to a recent collaboration with the prestigious graphic design studio JJ Bertran I made the illustration and lettering of a new red wine from the Priorat region. "M'ho ha dit un ocellet" is produced by Mas d'en Perì, which is - heard it through the grapevine? - Iduvina Olmedo's new brave personal project.
